Design Process:
This game jam lasted 10 days, however I was busy so got a late start and had 5 days left to complete it. I started with ideation and pretty quickly decided on the theme. I wanted a quick and cute management / multitasking game. I had previously made a jam game about driving a tram, and I liked the mechanic of picking up and dropping off passengers. I decided to use that and combine it with a sort of cooking game, as I felt the balance of managing multiple tasks could lean to some interesting gameplay dynamics.
I was able to get the basic bus mechanics in quickly and then started working on the snack making mechanics. Once I had the main gameplay loop in I started working on the art. Originally I wanted this to be a 2D game, however I then decided to try my hand at simple low-poly 3D modeling. I'm fairly new to it, but had used Blockbench before and was able to get a lot of good practice with this jam.
After spending a day or two on the art, I finalized some of the gameplay, added sounds, and some final polish. I was lucky enough to get a playtester right before the end of the jam, who found some critical bugs and rough gameplay mechanics. I was able to get some of the rough parts fixed and polished up before submitting.
